my weather-firefoxplugin says: 6° right now, 11° tomorrow.
i live near cologne, but this area is called "the toscana of germany", because it's the warmest region in germany. i don't like it, i want snow. i even wrote an sonnet about snow in my english lesson (we had to write a love poem about anything, i chose snow ).

My last "Klausur" in English didn't really satisfy me and that's why it would be nice if you let me know when i make mistakes while I'm talking here.
My greatest problem was to translate nice German phrases (which i had in my head obviously ^^) into the right English.
I didn't know the right word, didn't know a similar one and at least tried to describe it which was probably the wrong decision ..

so plz feel free to correct me .. :>

I have to buy presents and don't now what to buy, the things are either too expensive or I simply don't know where to get them exactly...

Then another one:
I don't know when to buy it, all wishes of my relatives can't be bought nearby, I fear I have to stay in Karlsruhe for that after school...
but then I'll miss my train. And to make that even worse, the next one leaves 1h20min later on that time (btw thats the only time where is such a grat hole between two trains )

Uhm well, I think it should be possible to make it on Monday or Tuesday after the afternoon lessons or I could do it after (or even during, I don't think that someone will miss me, like about half of the class who goes out that time or even don't come at all... well, for the most it's nesassary to be seen by the teacher ones ) the Christmas Party at school next Wednesday.

Well, I have to write business administration tomorrow (uhm well, its today, damn its late^^), on Monday theres an english test and on Tuesday physics...

I's probably about the average temperature during the whole year. The weather in the Rhinelandis very moderate so on the one hand it doesn't go up as high as perhaps in Freiburg in summer but on the other hand it doesn't get that cold in winter. It's probably the most habitable region of Germany - of course this doesn't matter too much since civilization has spread

i can type in the poem later after school.
i'm content with my class tests at the moment. tip: write as mich as you can, the more words you write the smaler your "fehlerquotient" is.
for example: i had 35 mistakes-on 2000 words :>
and most of them were just dumb typos (like forgetting the "e" in "learn") and words i always misspell (like really, can't remember how many L oO).

No worries, thats why I have a spellcheck running in all my chat and writing programs. Unfortunately the spellcheck does not work my browser, but they should really change that. It would make life a whole lot easier.

My international politics profesor said something interesting about spellcheck in the final exams. " It is not a bit important how your paper looks, as long as someone can read it. What matters is what you include in your writing."

If spelling didnt matter my abitur finals would have been a lot better, rasing my total grade form 2,2 to 1,9... but who cares, I was admitted to this university anyway ^^

Regarding error quotient: It's true, the more you write the smaller the error margin gets. It's a simple fact of math and saved me back in High School.^^ At least the typos are compensated for and that's nice because I always hated those annoyingly stupid mistakes
@Riven: I think it's good to have the errors count into your exams in school. Building up proper language skills is one of the goals of school. In university people tend to ignore mistakes as long as they don't happen too frequently. That's nice but shouldn't tempt one not to care about it. Believe me: It can be really annoying to read PhD-Thesis with one mistake after the other even if they contain brilliant ideas...

What I was talking about about were the exams taken at the end of terms, not the written homeworks. I do understand that these shouls not have any typos. Thats why you print them out and annoy some friends t crossread the paper before handing it in. Then you have everything nicely polished
