Im the a new one in this thread... I saw the headline and was surprised about an english title in the OT^^ I'd really like to join ur discusion but there are still some problemes with my kind to use the tense forms. Do you know any good way or website where i have a overview about all of them and a kind of guide how i have to use these forms?

So, i hope my English was readable xD
Till' the next time!

You might want to have a look at the link or google something similar. These short but painless guides are usually nicely written and help anyone who is capable of reading.

Ever since I'm using contact lenses I think wind is the most annoying natural phenomenon. Nothing sucks more than an aching, watery eye. S'ppose one can't have everything.

Use glasses :D - I personally believe that glasses can only improve a person's appearance.

Then again, I would be silly to think that glasses make me look ugly, otherwise I would have looked ugly for three fourths of my life  .

Simon

yes, glases can make some persons even look better :D
my friend have to wear some (they are quite large, without them he's nearly blind) and without them...
well...
you know what I mean :D

Maybe I'm vain, but I beg to differ. I hardly wear my specs any more, it gives me the impression that everything is much smaller and distorted (-6.5 dioptries on each eye).

Hm, you are right - these glasses indeed let you look worse. But the style of them is, sorry, disgusting.

Then again, this could be because they are so thick. Your dioptries are quite high, I only have -3,5.

Alas, those of my father are even higher, and he looks really better with glasses. May also be that he's just the type for wearing glasses (as am I), but with a different design, well...

Are you sure that your lenses fit?

I am wearing lenses too and never had problems like that. Maybe you schould consult an optician.

If the lenses dont fit there are too possibilities. Either the bend is too hard or too weak. A too hard bend results in headache, a too weak bend results into problems you described.

uhm my friend has -9,5 and -10,5 so you proberbly can imagine how thick his glasses look like^^
the style is similar to yours, but it looks much better on him :D
sadly I don't have any picture...

My eyes are also sensitve to wind, but that could probably because of my diabetes...

Yes I'm pretty sure; everything is in focus and the lenses stay where they are supposed to be. Unless dirt or dust is blown into my eyes I'm hardly aware that I wear any (that's the reason why I hate windy days).

@Jonny: that's quite a hapless situation. I heard from a couple of ophthalmologists that they wouldn't recommend laser eye surgery. On the other hand, this sounds very much like they are afraid of losing paying customers... Dunno, In your case the surgery seems to be appropriate, even if you still had to wear glasses afterwards. Good luck.

Have you ever had the feeling you did something wrong although it wasn't your fault?
Well...

Me: Oh are the cookies ready to test?
Mother: So, you come out for testing, but didn't get the idea of helping me!
Me: You haven't asked...
Mother: I have to expact you helping me...
Me (is thinking) : How can she expact that I would help her if I even don't know what she was doing...

Well, women logical^^

Expect, destrution, no?

I know this feeling. If I would let it hamper me, I would be depressive by now...

Thata the way women work... do not expect any logic in most their behavior, unless you are psychis, you will never make most things right

I don't want to step in your interesting discussion about women's logic (you'll never get it anyway). I want to ask you if you ever have written some poetry in English instead. Me myself likes that sometimes and I can't really tell you a reason for why I am doing it once in a while. Perhaps the reason lies deep in the illogical women's soul or the like :hammer:

Well, feel free to post your poetry if you like. Hope this matches the thread in any way...

I once tried English poetry, and found that, opposed to German, you have more words that rhyme but as it is not your maternal language, you don't find them :p .

But maybe I haven't tried hard enough. Spontaneous!

Words that rhyme are hard to find,
or are they really? Wait and see:
I just type down what's in my mind,
beginning with a line picked blind,
it came so fast to me.

Alas, the lines come sprouting out,
they seem to have no end;
are they quite bad, will I see rout,
will you all laugh, ridicule, pout?
Do I make the language bend?

But no, I think, this does feel good.
It is quite easy, I would say;
I seem to be in rhyming mood,
(okay, what rhymes now fitting: hood?)
...I'll call it now a day.

Simon

Everything matches this thread as long as it is in english, but how about taking the first step and begin with one of your efforts?

I'm always a bit shy so it's nice that Simon started with his poem ^^

There's this lonely soul that wanders between the stars,
Searching for some unknown bliss and salvation.
It looks around and sees the beauty, feels the love
And also perishes because of all the hate and cold.
There's this deep melancholy and earnestness inside
That drives the soul from star to star and into eternal search.

That's what I've written not long ago and I wouldn't call it a real poem. It even doesn't have a title, so I'd call it better a soliloquy.
