Sum Ting Wong

if that would be that easy I would have learned that beside English for sure^^

I just found a hilarious video with Matthew Perry. For those who don't know, he was part of the main cast of "Friends" and starred in movies like "Fools rush in" and "The whole nine yards". It's a clip from Saturday Night Live and if you got around 5 minutes to spare, here it is (youtube video).

That sounds allomst like singlish, the strange dialekt spoken in singapur. i live with a guy from there together in a suite and when he makes fun of this dialekt. just great :top:

wah.... today I was on the edge of throwing my laptop out of the window... the bloddy macbook made trouble again, so after talking to phonesupport i erased the harddrive and reinstalled the os... its working now... but lets see how long

The tornado in London yesterday apparently had some devastating effects, luckily my boyfriend's house is located in a different part of the city. In case you hadn't heard of the tornado: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6220000.stm

Cycling yesterday in Cambridge was ... interesting... you had to be a bit careful not to be blown off your bike.

I didn't know you were living in the UK. When and why did you move here? The whole tornado issue went completely past me, I was just pissed off that it was extremely windy and raining. Well, I suppose I just got used to the weather... it's still to bloody warm, I want snow!

No wonder that 20 homes are inhabitably destroyed after the "tornado"; british people don't know how to construct houses. I doubt that any German city would have taken serious damage.

There quite a lot of people from singapore around here.

I started working for the university of Cambridge a year ago, doing sysadmin stuff in a laboratory exploring the genetic origine between juvenile diabetes.

Forget about that, the only day last year with snow here was apparently shortly after Christmas while I was in Germany. But my shiny new boyfriend is going to take me to Chamonix in February for a week of skiing, so that serves the purpose well.

Not too sure about that. I know that in my parents' house every third roof tile has a bit of wire through it that is nailed to the truss, but I think it is an exception to build like that (hey, the roof is 100 years old, and the wires got only recently renewed).

But my shiny new boyfriend ...
Is this some kind of metapher or fix term in england or is this your very personal description of him?

btw.. the storm has arrived finally. My dogs hide beyond the table ;)

Mine are enjoying it ^^

Lizzy (the black one) stands on a small "hill" - merely 50cm above the normal garden level - and Bella (the blond one) does what she always does..sleeping on her couch in the kennel. Well, kennel is the wrong word. It used to be one before we moved here, now it's just an extension of our house where we put our old couch ^^

The combination "shiny new" is usually not applied to boyfriends, rather to things like cars or other gadgets you can play around with. But then again - I like playing around with him too. :D

Off for ballroom dancing now...

Fabulous, I wanted to apply there anyway for my PhD. So if you could trick the application system a little? (I'm sure it lies within your capabilities, hehe)

Oh I'm aware that it actually _never_ snows in the UK when I'm in the country. I was merely refering to Austria and my desire to insecure some slopes during the holidays.

Enjoy your time in France.

Some removed roof-tiles are not really serious damage and far away from "inhabitably destroyed", hmm?

Hmm, Tornodos in Great Britain? We had a lot of Wind coming down from Canada too over here. But it was just cold as hell.... -3 C now around here... last weeek it was still around 18C. And later tonight I will be wroking as a bouncer on campus, outside in the cold. Here there is no snow either, but not like the british midlands, were I have met people who have not seen snow for 15 years. Well anyway, gotta run, Ihave to get a few things done before I go out working later
