I am going to do this in english, as you are required to speak that language to participate in following, very fun activity!
Some of you know me as one of the admins on the Mafia Inn, our platform for forum games and general madness. A less known fact is that i am also the moderator of the Cube Forums on MTGSalvation, an english site for Magic. The Cube forums also see their share of general madness, so there's kind of a pattern, especially when i also consider my job here on inDia.
Anyways, as mod over there i wanted to provide a platform for online cube drafts for some time. Well, to make a long story short, the Mafia Inn now has an english subforum that is dedicated to Cube Drafting.
If you know Magic, but don't know Cube, let me tell you that you are missing out on the format that's perhaps the most fun of all. Read about the format
here. In a nutshell, this is what happens: A preconstructed cardpool containing only the best cards in Magic is divided into boosters randomly and is then drafted following the standard Magic draft rules. The resulting draft decks are insanely powerful and feel like constructed decks most of the time.
If you like drafting, but are sick of playing with cards like Pillarfield Ox, you'll love Cube. If you don't like drafting, you are a bad person. So in conclusion, if you are a good person, you'll love Cube.
There is only one bad thing about the format: Assembling a cube out of physical cards is expensive. REALLY expensive. Well, it seems it is your lucky day, because you can now draft the Cube without owning the cards. Online. We have the technology and we are not afraid to use it.
The first cube draft on the Mafia Inn is scheduled to start soon... -ish. It will be a team draft, putting at least three people in a team. Deadline between packs will be 48 hours for the first 5 picks of a pack and 24 hours for the remaining picks. To draft all 45 cards should therefore take at least 60 days. When the draft is finished, there will be playoffs via Magic Workstation or Apprentice. More information can be found in the signup thread!
Talking of the signup thread:
Here it is. Go nuts.
And by "Go nuts" i mean "Sign up."
Thank you for your attention.
